THE PEACEMAKERS MOVEMENT™
The Peacemakers Movement™ was founded by Eric Anthony Jones, known publicly as Ruler In Peace™.
It begins not with forced agreement, but with developing human capacities. Those capacities help people remain present, truthful, dignified, discerning, relational, agentic, and capable of contribution. It is an inquiry, not a campaign. The way people participate is still being developed.
An inquiry, not a campaign.
Section One
Human beings build families. Organizations. Communities. Institutions. Economies. Technologies. Governments. Cultures. Movements.
The quality of what is built is influenced — not determined, but influenced — by the capacities of the people doing the building.
This is not a claim that personal development alone solves structural problems. Structures matter. History matters. Power matters. And still — the interior condition of the builder shapes what the building becomes.
So the question turns inward before it turns outward: what capacities might we need, in order to build what we hope to build?
Section Two
Nine capacities being explored, developed, and practiced. Not a final taxonomy. Not universal doctrine. Living inquiry.
One
The interior steadiness to remain present under pressure without collapse or reaction.
Two
The disciplined seeing of what is actually happening, not only what is convenient to see.
Three
The willingness to speak and receive what is true, even when the cost is real.
Four
The recognition of worth in self and other — even in disagreement, even under pressure.
Five
The discernment to distinguish what matters from what merely presses for attention.
Six
The capacity to remain in connection — including through rupture, difference, and repair.
Seven
The recovery of one's capacity to act — deliberately, without coercion or collapse.
Eight
The offering of one's capacity into the shared world in ways that build rather than deplete.
Nine
Mindful awareness means noticing what is happening within and around us and returning our attention to the present with openness and care.
Here and Now
Encounter the lived inquiry — a multi-country exploration of human capacity, dignity, and peace through direct encounter.
Enter the practice through your own life — a phone-free start, hydration, sit and breathe, spiritual alignment, and movement before the day begins.
Discover writing, speaking, music, and conversations around the inquiry into human capacity and peace.
The inquiry is not passive. It asks something of you. It invites you to ask something of yourself. And it recognizes your capacity to contribute to what more capable human beings might build together.
Transparency
The Peacemakers Movement is not yet fully operational. The architecture of how people participate, connect, and build together is still being developed. This is honest. This is real.
There are no membership tiers yet. No local chapters. No formal governance structure. No ambassador program. No certification. No benefits list. No enrollment system that claims to make someone part of something finished.
What exists is an invitation to participate in the inquiry itself — to develop capacities, to encounter the work in its various forms, and to understand yourself as part of a larger human conversation about what we might build together when human capacity matters.
More will emerge. But it will emerge slowly, carefully, honestly — in service to something real, not to the illusion of completeness.
Everywhere
The inquiry into human capacity belongs in families. In relationships. In education. In workplaces and leadership. In entrepreneurship. In communities. In faith traditions. In creativity. In institutions. In public life. In peacebuilding work itself.
This is not one organization claiming to control these spaces. This is recognition that the inquiry is already alive in countless places — in quiet practices, in thoughtful conversations, in people who are already asking: what does it mean to remain human, truthful, and capable of contribution?
The Movement is the naming of something already happening. The invitation to recognize the connection across these environments. The building of bridges among people asking the same questions in different contexts.
Clarity
Peace does not mean silence. Peace does not mean avoidance, lack of boundaries, absence of accountability, forced agreement, or tolerating harm.
Peace may require truth. It may require boundaries. It may demand consequences. It may ask for courage, disagreement, repair, and disciplined action.
Peace is the condition under which truth, accountability, and relationship can coexist. It is the opposite of complicity.
A peacemaker is someone who practices honesty with themselves and others—refusing to lie to themselves or to others—and meets reality with dignity and courage. They work to respond to conflict without surrendering their humanity or denying another’s, remaining willing to examine their assumptions and correct themselves when they discover they are wrong.
Ceasefire: Stopping the fighting. The underlying conflict may remain.
Civility: Treating one another respectfully, even when disagreement remains.
Covenant: A shared commitment to how we will live in relationship, with responsibilities we agree to honor.
The Peacemakers Movement does not ask for passivity. It asks for capacity. For clarity. For courage.
